The trend of personalising has been steadily increasing for years as couples realise the importance of making their day a true reflection of themselves and their relationship. The possibilities are endless, from using your initials or married name on everything from case toppers to stationery, to creating a bespoke cocktail that showcases who you are as a couple.
Cute colour pops
Neutral colour schemes have been ruling the roost for the last few years but we’re finally seeing couples taking the plunge with daring pops of colour. The bravest brides are ditching the traditional white gown for something more showstopping, but if that’s a step too far, consider where else you can add pops of bright colours to really stand out. Think a single red rose in a sea of gypsophila or a bright coloured tie with an otherwise subtle suit for the groom.
Aaaand relax
We’re saying farewell to the formality of weddings and welcoming a more relaxed approach. We’re seeing this in the shape of a groom’s casual linen shirt or informal canapes for the wedding breakfast. And if you want to do your first toast with a beer instead of fizz, you go for it!

One trend we’re seeing is towards people celebrating their weddings at home with intimate garden parties, rather than the lavish external affairs we’ve known them to be previously.

Renting the groom’s suit has always been relatively common, but with sustainable fashion at the forefront of minds, rented dresses are growing in popularity. Not only is it more environmentally friendly, it also allows you to support a designer you might not be able to afford to buy from. Win-win.
Charity donation favours
Favours are relatively expensive, and many are left behind as guests get distracted enjoying the day, which is why many couples are now opting for small charity donations as a favour. Give your guests a choice of 2 or 3 then donate the money you would’ve spent on those love heart sweets or miniature alcoholic drink.
Golden hour weddings
With many cutting the ceremony element of the wedding down to the minimum in order to spend more time enjoying their time with their new spouse and loved ones, plus the increase in outdoor weddings, many are now opting for their nuptials at golden hour – the last hour of light before sunset.
