What is Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act?

Your Section 75 Protection

If something goes wrong with goods you've bought, Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 may protect you. This means both the retailer and Novuna can help put things right.

When you're covered

You may be protected if:

  • Your purchase was between £100 and £30,000
  • Your finance agreement is directly linked to the item
  • You used the amount of finance ( you don't need to finance the full cost)
  • The issue can't be resolved with the retailer, including they've gone out of business.

Protection applies to the total cost, including deposits.

How Novuna Helps

We aim to resolve your issue as quickly as possible by:

  • Working with the retailer
  • Arranging extra support, such as repairs, if needed
  • Keeping you informed throughout the process

It applies to purchases between £100 and £30,000, even if the retailer has gone out of business. It applies to the total price of goods, including any deposit, and you don't need to have put the full amount on finance for the protection to apply.

If you think Section 75 applies to your situation, get in touch and we'll guide you through the next steps.
