Going off grid in my bespoke campervan

I’ve always loved camping and wanted to convert a van so we can enjoy travelling together as a family. Here’s how I got back on the open road…
Where do you start converting a van into a campervan from scratch? Jason got stuck in and transformed an 18-plate Volkswagen into a fully functioning campervan with bespoke specs in just three months.
We were pretty impressed to say the least as Jason told us how he completed the conversion.
I did everything myself, from cutting out the windows and insulating the floor and walls to doing all the electrics. I even fitted hot running water and a fresh water tank under the van.
We’ve got all the mod cons to make it a really efficient, enjoyable space. We’ve got a fridge, a gas hob in the kitchen, a double bed with a garage underneath to fit the mountain bikes and walking kit… we’ve basically got everything we need to go completely off grid.
Not only does the campervan have substance, but it’s also got plenty of style too. It’s kitted out in bespoke Chesterfield sofas to make sure Jason’s family can enjoy the cosiest of camping trips!
A bespoke project needed bespoke funding
